There is always room in the heart for more.

Okay, so how do you really get rid of a blog? I have my website... yah! but still I must blog. At least I don't have to worry about keeping it up every week, though. So here I am in transition trying to figure out what I should blog about. Right now, that fact that I'm here and writing at all is fortunate, as there is a baby lying on my chest fast asleep. Wow, my life has changed since my first child arrived. But still I am as much about my writing and inspiring others as I have ever been, perhaps more so. Love. There is always room in the heart for more.

Most of these pieces are reflective of the human relationship with Christ. How one needs Him, how one doesn't, how we cling to Him, how we push Him away. My prose tends to be very emotional or spiritual in nature. I'd like to say I am a poet, but I've never been accused of eloquence. I write from the heart and nearly all of the above titles were written for a friend or family member as a way for me to ease their suffering or encourage them in some way. (ie: "for D" at the end of a piece below my signature is an indication as to whom the title was written.)

A little background...

Writing is my passion. Sadly, I didn't always know that. When I was growing up, I was a daydreamer. Always imagining Prince Charming, or a better life. When I was in my teens, I watched a movie that intrigued me, so I created my own characters, and basically kept the same premise as the movie. But what was the fun in that?

My created characters were their own people--even if they were likened at the time to just about everyone I knew--so they needed they're own story. With their own tale to tell, they suddenly needed to become their own people, as well, and so they began to differentiate themselves from my friends and family.

Little by little, I began to realize that my daydreams could make great stories, so I entered the world inside my mind and wrote of it. That was the beginning of the end, for me, or perhaps, the beginning of the beginning.

Suddenly, my imagination was bringing me such pleasure, rather than leaving me feeling like I was wasting my life away. The scared little girl inside of me said this was all just for fun. Nobody would ever want to read what I had written. Still, what if someone, might...

I began to read some of what I had written and let me tell you, I was confused. These were truly just my thoughts on paper, albeit, through the eyes of my characters. But what if I learned to write? The tales were there, couldn't be, wouldn't be taught. But the skill and art of writing--writing a novel--surely could be.

And it can. I learned a great deal through reading books, taking creative writing, and the best "teacher" was a wonderful critique group that I was "invited" into. They taught me so much, not simply from a writer's perspective, but from a reader's perspective.

Besides writing, writing, and doing more writing, my goal is to encourage other writers who are somewhere along the line of where I once was or where I want to be; and to give them the aides to achieve their goals.
